Do you need a VPN?
Maybe…
https://cybernews.com/what-is-vpn/is-a-vpn-worth-it/
In short, a Virtual Private Network service, or VPN, helps keep your location private by changing your IP address when you go online, and can help you:
- Protect your data (ex, prevent spying when using public WiFi, or traveling)
- Avoid ISP spying (ex, prevent tracking, and ISP-imposed speed limits based on the time of day or the websites you visit)
- Bypass geo-blocks (ex, get access to streaming services and full search results without restrictions based on your location)
- Save money (ex, for the best prices on flights, hotels, and more, since some sites offer different deals based on your location)
- Bypass potential censorship
While a VPN is not essential for everyone (check with us to find out what we recommend in your specific case!) they can help protect your identity and improve your experience when surfing and streaming online, and make you less of a target, on top of your day-to-day security or antivirus software. If you like the idea of being a little more in control and having a little more privacy online, a VPN can be a valuable addition to your computer’s security software!
Some antivirus programs even include a VPN with their service, so you might have access to one already, or be able to add one easily.
If you’re curious about using a VPN to improve your privacy online, or just need to renew your antivirus, drop us a line — we’ve got you covered!
For example, we sell Norton 360 antivirus in a yearly subscription that also comes with a VPN as well, so it doesn’t have to cost you anything extra on top of your regular virus and web protection! We can even help set it up for you. 🙂
For this, and all other techie stuff, we’re here to help! 🙂
