Did you know computers use special “codes” to keep your memories safe?

Yup — they’re everywhere, from Blu-rays to cheques (still a thing!). They are actually pretty cool, and recently mathematicians found a new way to make them.

The new technique keeps things small and fast and also makes it possible to find errors with very little on-hand to test.
